A  cluster feasibility study to test IMAB-Qi delivery and trial processes in general practice

IMAB-Qi is an intervention designed to support healthcare professionals and patients to identify a patient’s main barriers to medication adherence during their primary care medication review and provides evidence-based solutions to address these barriers.

This intervention will be tested during medication reviews in three GP practices in England and will be compared to usual primary care medication reviews which will continue to be delivered in one control GP practice in England. In the intervention practices, health care professionals who deliver medication reviews will be trained to deliver the intervention.

Patients whose blood pressure above the normal range for their age will receive IMAB-Qi during the study. GP practice sites will be involved in the study for six to eight months which includes set-up, IMAB-Qi delivery, data collection and follow-up. Patient participants will be involved in the study for three months.

Eligibility Criteria- GP practices

This study has been accepted onto the NIHR portfolio and is fully costed. All participating practices are entitled to research costs and service support costs. Excess Treatment Costs are paid to intervention practices only.
